Velocity

Velocity

“Insanity comes in two basic varieties: slow and fast... Viscosity and Velocity are opposites,
yet they can look the same. Viscosity causes the stillness of disinclination;
velocity causes the stillness of fascination. An observer can't tell if a person
is silent and still because inner life has stalled, or because inner life is transfixingly busy.”

Home

“The ache for home lives in all of us.
The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.”

Viva Enfarinats!

Enfarinats
Francisco Sanchez Fotographias
In a tradition that dates back more than 200 years, the town of Ibi, Spain,
celebrates the festival of Els Enfarinats on December 28th with a mock battle
taking place outside the town hall. Participants attack each other with eggs, flour,
firecrackers, fire extinguishers, and more. The annual battle involves an a group
of married men called “Els Enfarinats,” who stage a coup, taking over the town,
declaring and enforcing ridiculous new laws—and “La Oposicio,”
another group who try to restore order. At the end of the day,
any money collected in fines by “Els Enfarinats” is donated to charity.

The Little Things

Passaros
Luis Godinho
“A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry,
and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that
worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful
which the Universe has implanted in the human soul.”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Shop Talk

"A conversation is a dialogue, not a monologue.
That's why there are so few good conversations:
due to scarcity, two intelligent talkers seldom meet.”

Simplicity & Abundance

Fibonacci
Pedro Jarque
“You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting –
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.”

Virtue

Where now..?
Leszek Paradowski
“Remain faithful to the earth, my brothers, with the power of your virtue.
Let your gift-giving love and your knowledge serve the meaning of the earth.
Thus I beg and beseech you. Do not let them fly away from earthly things and beat
with their wings against eternal walls. Alas, there has always been so much virtue
that has flown away. Lead back to the earth the virtue that flew away,  as I do
back to the body, back to life, that it may give the earth a meaning, a human meaning.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche

Nailed

Old grudges
Raffaele Spettoli

“Let today be the day you stop being haunted by the ghost of yesterday.
Holding a grudge & harboring anger/resentment is poison to the soul.
Get even with people...but not those who have hurt us, forget them,
instead get even with those who have helped us.”
- Steve Maraboli

The Sketch

Shadows (one way)
Dalibor Davidovic
“Life is like a painting. Imagine it, hit and try drawing with the pencil of first steps,
fill in the colors of happiness, correct the mistakes with eraser of love and forgiveness;
thus, one dream project is accomplished. Create such masterpieces just like that.”

The Traveler

KPN
Ewa Cwikla

“The Road goes ever on and on.
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say”

The Shady Side of Gray

Untitled
Ina Blar
“The overcast skies had the colour of deadened stones, and seemed
closer than usually, as though they were phlegmatically observing my every
movement with their apathetic emptily blue-less eyes; each tiny drop of hazy
rain drifting around resembled transparent molten steel, the pavement looked
like it was about to burst into disconsolate tears, even the air itself was gray,
so ultimate and ubiquitous that colour was everywhere around me."

This Tree & Me

High, dry and protected tree house
Ben Goossens
“But the trees seemed to know me.
They whispered among themselves and beckoned me nearer.
And looking around, I noticed the other small trees and wild plants
and grasses had sprung up under the protection of the trees we had placed there.

The trees had multiplied!
They were moving. In one small corner of the world,
Grandfather's dream was coming true and the trees were moving again.”
