The Irony of Love

Familiar Strangers #5
Fang Tong
“Sometimes the best and worst times of your life can coincide.
It is a talent of the soul to discover the joy in pain.
Thinking of moments you long for, and knowing you’ll never have them again.
The beautiful ghosts of our past haunt us, and yet we still
can’t decide if the pain they caused us out weighs the
tender moments when they touched our soul.
This is the irony of love.”

The Remains

Soulmade part II
Stefan Eisele

“We trust nature to know what it is doing, but we are not nearly so kind,
understanding and trusting of our own rhythms and cycles.
While in the eye of each cycle we tend to be so hard on ourselves.
Can we not trust that the very same forces that created the
rhythms and cycles of nature created our own? Of course we can.
We often don't, but we can, if we remember.”

Thinking Pink in Black & White

Triple Dream
Astrid Morgreen

"One of the most important - and unimportant things
that happens to women when becoming a breast cancer patient
is that we are forced to cope not only with a life threat
and the many physical and emotional issues, but also with
a major crisis with our femininity, body image and self-esteem."

Survival

We will survive
Pedro Jorque Krebs

“All living things contain a measure of madness that
moves them in strange, sometimes inexplicable ways.
This madness can be saving; it is part and parcel of the ability to adapt.
Without it, no species would survive.”
Yann Martel
“Life of Pi”

Siesta

Sleepy
Norbert Becke
“Sleep my little baby
Sleep until you waken
When you wake you'll see the world
If I'm not mistaken...

Kiss a lover
Dance a measure,
Find your name
And buried treasure...

Face your life
Its pain,
Its pleasure,
Leave no path untaken.”

The Retreat

I See You
Haris

As the warmth of the exuberant sun in summer waxes and wanes into the
onset of autumn
we retreat into the warmth of a place we consider home.
The time of reflection begins as
we listen quietly to the intrinsic voices of
life and love.

In the still of the night, the voices softly whisper, a reminder that our time here is brief;
urging us to love until it hurts and when it hurts, love some more.
Love until we don’t care about the pain, until we stop expecting anything in return,
until all that matters, is our ability to love in the best way we can.

There You Are

What is happening? What do you feel?
What do you see? What do you hear?”

The Magician

Top Hat
J. Peterson

“You don't have to question whether your love is strong just because it seems like it.
You can also look to create miracles in your own life
by ramping up the amount of love you're feeling.
It's all about letting someone know that your love is so strong
that it can take on anything.
Love is the magician that pulls a man out of his own hat.”

A Wild Heart

“If you find a woman with a wild heart do not try to tame her.
Adore her recklessly, the way she is meant to be loved.

Do not try to quiet her, for her roars will reach far and wide.
She has something important to say.  Help her say it.

Do not get in her way. She stops for no one.
Do not try to change the path she has chosen.
Learn also to love the wind and let it change you.”

Tidal

Modern Surf III
Toby Harriman

“There he was, with the moon’s soft white light and the pulse of the sea
gliding him home like a wave destined for the shoreline. For the waves are voices of the sea.
They are the ocean's pulse, and our own individual heartbeat.”

A Long Farewell

"Angel's Confesion"
Pawel Pentlinowski

“They say that when you're about to die, your life flashes before your eyes.
They never tell you that when you watch someone you once loved dying,
hovering between this life and the next, it's twice as painful,
because you're reliving two lives that traveled one road together.”
Becca Fitzpatrick

The Great Divide

An Unwilling Duel
Michael Bilotta
That which is Love, does not come nor does it go.
That which comes and goes is not love.
Find that which neither comes nor goes.
What comes and goes, is temporal, contextual, finite and perishable.
Love is none of those.
You will find love in the innermost part of your soul.
But for that to happen, you must cross the Great Divide,
and as you cross it, you must heal it.
Then you will find love.
