The Power Of A Touch

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word,
a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
- Leo Buscaglia

Urban Serenity

“Close your eyes and breathe in, concentrate on the breath and heartbeat, feel that?
You are a living being capable of changing your life and possibly the lives around you,
you do not merely exist, your actions affect you and others. Act with love.”
- Hamza Wolf

Elegance

“Elegance is a glowing inner peace. Grace is an ability to give as well as to receive and be thankful. Mystery is a hidden laugh always ready to surface! Glamour only radiates if there is a sublime courage & bravery within: glamour is like the moon; it only shines because the sun is there.”

- C. JoyBell C.

The Pursuit of Happiness: “Never give up, give thanks instead.”

It’s that time of year when we start thinking about where we’ve been where we are and where we want to go.   We ask ourselves; are we happy, is this all there is, what more do we want, rather than thinking about the real stuff.  We forget to give thanks for how fortunate we are to be here, to have this experience we call life, to have people in our lives, some who give us joy and others who teach us lessons.

Giving thanks for each challenge we’ve experienced, for each achievement we’ve obtained is the key to understanding and acknowledging happiness.  It is the force that keeps us going.

Below is a great passage by C. JoyBell C., a reminder that we should never give up and in doing so, we will be prepared for that which is yet to come.

"One day you're going to miss the subway because it's not going to come. One of these days, it's going to break down and it's not going to come around, don’t be the kind of person who waits for the next one to come.”

“Let go, you've got to know that when things don't happen the way you think they're going to happen, there's always the bus, there's always the next station...you can always take a cab.”
- C. JoyBell C.

Sunscreen

“If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.
The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proven by scientists
whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
than my own meandering experience.”

21 Sisters

“Often it was the most unlikely people who found within themselves
a spark of something greater. It was probably always there, but most people
are never tested, and they go through their whole lives without ever knowing
that when things are at their worst, they are at their best.”
– Jonathan Maberry

The Illusion of Existence

“Who doesn’t want to feel they are understood, that people get them,
and in the end, love them all the way?”
“Everyone desires this; it exists in all of us. We cannot feel it until we accept who we were, who we are, and how we hope to be remembered. This is when true unbounding love, reveals itself beyond the reflection in the mirror. It is a feeling deep within ourselves revealing those who have truly loved us for our authentic self.”

Fall Back Tonight!

An extra yawn one morning in the springtime,
an extra snooze one night in the autumn is all that we ask in return for dazzling gifts. We borrow an hour one night in April;
we pay it back with golden interest in November.

Happiness: Your Forces and How to Use Them

“Promise Yourself…

To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.”
